Which tool — and what you can do with data
M365 Copilot (licensed): Anchored in your organization's data — emails, files, meetings, chats — directly inside Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Copilot Chat (no license): Web-based, protected by Microsoft's enterprise data protection. Prompts and responses are not used to train foundation models.
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Vibe (formerly Le Chat): Powerful for general tasks. In a regulated sector, personal, customer, or market-sensitive data should only be used in an enterprise-approved version with a data processing agreement.
> ⚠️ Rule of thumb for data: If you're working with customer, personal, or market-sensitive data, only use a tool your workplace has approved. If in doubt — anonymize first, or ask compliance. Prompt 102 helps you make that judgment case by case.
Context makes the difference
1. Role: "You are an experienced compliance consultant in a Danish bank" gives markedly better answers than no role.
2. Upload documents: Attach your policy, your spreadsheet, your report. Relevant context beats an empty prompt every time.
3. Be specific about format: "Format as a table", "Keep it under 200 words", "Structure as: problem, consequence, recommendation".
Meta-prompting: Don't know how to prompt? Ask the AI to write the prompt for you. It's the fastest path to getting good.
Getting started (safely)
- Start with three prompts that hit your daily work, and use them this week. That beats reading the whole guide at once.
- Always add your context — your numbers, your systems, your stakeholders.
- Mind the data — in a regulated sector, customer and personal data only belong in tools your workplace has approved.
- You have the judgment. AI drafts, finds gaps, and structures. The decision and the responsibility are yours.
